Getting Started
How do I create a BookSafaari account?▾
Click "Sign Up" on the homepage and register with your email address and a secure password. You can start browsing listings immediately after verifying your email.
How do I search for accommodation?▾
Use the search bar on the homepage to enter your destination, travel dates, and number of guests. You can further refine results using filters for price range, property type, amenities, and more.
Is BookSafaari available in my country?▾
BookSafaari currently supports listings across East Africa, Southern Africa, and select destinations worldwide. We are expanding to new regions regularly.
Do I need an account to browse listings?▾
You can browse listings without an account, but you will need to sign in to make a booking, save wishlists, or message hosts.
Booking
How do I book a stay?▾
Select your desired listing, choose your check-in and check-out dates, review the total price, and click "Reserve." Some listings offer instant booking while others require host approval.
Can I book for someone else?▾
Yes. During the booking process you can add guest details that differ from your account. Make sure to inform the host about who will be staying at the property.
What happens after I book?▾
You will receive a confirmation email with your booking details, the host's contact information, and check-in instructions. You can also view all booking details in your Trips dashboard.
Can I modify my booking after confirmation?▾
Yes. Go to your Trips page and select the booking you want to change. Modification requests are subject to availability and the host's cancellation policy.
Payments
What payment methods are accepted?▾
We accept major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard), mobile money (M-Pesa, MTN Mobile Money), and bank transfers in select regions.
When am I charged for a booking?▾
Payment is collected at the time of booking. For stays longer than 14 days, you may be eligible for a split payment plan where the first portion is charged upfront and the remainder closer to check-in.
How do refunds work?▾
Refunds are processed according to the listing's cancellation policy. Refunds typically take 5-10 business days to appear in your account, depending on your payment provider.
Account
How do I reset my password?▾
Click "Forgot Password" on the sign-in page and enter your registered email. You will receive a link to create a new password.
How do I update my profile information?▾
Navigate to Account Settings from the user menu. You can update your name, profile photo, phone number, and preferred language.
Can I delete my account?▾
Yes. Go to Account Settings and select "Delete Account." Please note that active bookings must be completed or cancelled before your account can be removed.
Hosting
How do I list my property?▾
Click "Become a Host" and follow the step-by-step guide to add your property details, photos, pricing, and availability. Your listing will be reviewed before going live.
How do I get paid as a host?▾
Host payouts are released 24 hours after guest check-in. You can choose to receive payments via bank transfer or mobile money. Payout timing depends on your selected method.
What fees does BookSafaari charge hosts?▾
BookSafaari charges a service fee of 3% per booking. This fee is deducted from the payout and covers platform operations, customer support, and payment processing.
How do I handle guest issues during a stay?▾
Use the in-app messaging system to communicate with guests. For urgent matters, contact BookSafaari support through the Help Center and our team will assist in resolving the issue.
